It has been confirmed that the 2023 PC edition of Naughty Dog’s remake of The Last of Us Part 1 is now Steam Deck compatible. While Gabe Newell and his team’s Steam PC client impacted the industry, Valve was once known primarily as a game developer, releasing iconic games like Half-Life, Portal, and Left 4 Dead. This year, the Washington-based company displayed its hardware prowess with the Steam Deck portable system.

Although The Last of Us Part 1 is still a PS5 exclusive, it was revealed during this year’s Game Awards that it would be released on PC on March 3, 2023. The game, which debuted in September, is a remake of the 2013 original TLoU. Naughty Dog’s franchise has typically only been available on PlayStation systems, but with the remake’s release on PC, individuals without a Sony machine will be able to enjoy the highly regarded post-apocalyptic game.
Steam Deck has experienced some wholesome competition as a result of this influence. There is obviously room in the video game business for numerous handheld devices that effectively serve as portable PCs, as demonstrated by the OneXPlayer, a competitor to Valve’s gadget. Additionally, it’s likely that the system may have a rise in sales the following year as The Last of Us Part 1 is now available on the Deck.
“The Last Of Us Part I’s PC production gave us the chance to expand the game”, according to game director Matthew Gallant. “We gained a lot of knowledge from creating Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection earlier this year on the PC, and we are eager to create The Last Of Us Part I for the platform as well.”
Fans may acquire “bonus supplements to increase your skill set” and “bonus weapon components to expand your arsenal” by pre-purchasing the game.
