Atomic Heart DLC Unveils New Weapons, Enemies, and Location

The much-anticipated DLC for Atomic Heart, Annihilation Instinct, is set to launch on August 2, 2023.

Developer Mundfish has finally lifted the veil on the new content that players can look forward to, including new weapons, enemies, and a fresh setting.

Atomic Heart’s Journey So Far

Atomic Heart, which was released in February 2023, has had a mixed reception. While some players were captivated by the game’s setting and content, others were put off by the numerous bugs that plagued the gameplay.

Despite these initial hiccups, Mundfish has been diligent in releasing regular updates to address these issues and improve the overall gaming experience. The upcoming DLC, Annihilation Instinct, has been eagerly awaited by the Atomic Heart community.

What to Expect in Annihilation Instinct

Annihilation Instinct continues the story from where Atomic Heart left off. The DLC will introduce new shape-shifting enemies for the protagonist, P-3, to battle. Players will also get to explore the swamps surrounding a new location, the Mendeleev Complex. This location is still part of Facility 3826, the setting of the main game.

Two new weapons will be added to Atomic Heart with the DLC. The first is the Secateur, an energy rifle of a size similar to the Dominator. The second is the Klusha, a two-handed polearm-type melee weapon. P-3’s glove will also gain a new Techno-Stasis ability that allows him to manipulate time.

The DLC will delve deeper into the mystery surrounding NORA, the talkative vending machine used to upgrade weapons and unlock new skills in Atomic Heart. Players can expect to encounter familiar NPCs from the main game and meet a new “enigmatic” character.

More Atomic Heart Content on the Horizon

For players who can’t get enough of Atomic Heart, Mundfish has recently introduced a New Game+ mode with Update 1.8.0.0. This mode gives enemies new abilities, making the game more challenging. For instance, the VOV-A6 Lab Tech, a robot character, will be immune to glove abilities and cartridge weapons and will have increased attack and movement speeds.

Mundfish has also revealed that a sequel to Atomic Heart is in the works. However, more details about this project are likely to be revealed at a later date.
