Who is Albedo?

Albedo is a blonde young man who joined the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt as their Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team. He is praised for his intellectual genius and physical capabilities and can provide some of the best sub-DPS and support capabilities to any team.

Despite his genius and status, Albedo is a reclusive character with a past shrouded in mystery due to his origins as a synthetic human from 500 years ago. Regardless he continues his journey to uncover the mysteries of the world.

In combat, he uses his Geo Vision and a sword to wide and devastating attacks.

How To Unlock Albedo in Genshin Impact

Albedo is a 5-star character who is only unlockable by wishing on his rate-up Event banner, the Secretum Secretorum. This banner was first introduced in Version 1.2 in December 2020 and has since been rerun twice, first in Version 2.3 and, most recently, in Version 3.1 in 2022.

Albedo Main Abilities

Favonius Bladework – Weiss

Albedo’s Normal attacks have him perform 5 consecutive slashes with his sword. He can also charge it to perform 2 powerful slashes and also perform an aerial plunging attack dealing AoE damage.

Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma

This is Albedo’s Elemental Skill, where he creates a field that deals AoE Geo damage to enemies on appearance and generates damage dealing blossoms every time you hit enemies. The damage scales with Albedo’s defense.

Note that this ability can also be used to raise a Geo platform when you stand in the middle, which makes it useful for exploration.

Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide

Albedo’s Elemental Burst has him summon Geo Crystals dealing massive AoE Geo damage in front of him. If his Elemental Skill is active, then it will also produce 7 Fatal Blossoms that will track and deal even more AoE Geo damage to enemies.

Albedo Genshin Impact: Passive Abilities

Calcite Might

The Blossoms generated by Albedo’s Elemental skill deal 25% more damage to enemies under 50% HP.

Homunculus Nature

Using Albedo’s Elemental Burst provides your party with a big 125 Elemental Mastery increase for the next 10 seconds.

Flash of Genius

Crafting Weapon Ascension materials with Albedo gives you a 10% chance to yield double the reward.

Flower of Eden

Transient Blossoms generated with Albedo’s Elemental Skill regenerate 1.2 Energy.

Opening of Phanerozoic

Upon generating Transient Blossoms, Albedo can stack Fatal Reckoning up to 4 times. Stacks are consumed upon using his Elemental Burst, and each stack increases his Elemental Skill and Burst damage by 30% of his Defense. 

Grace of Helios

Increases his Elemental Skill talent level by 3 up to a max of 15

Descent of Divinity

Party members within his Elemental Skill’s range have plunging attack damage increased by 30%.

Tide of Hadean

Increases his Elemental Burst talent level by 3 up to a max of 15.

Dust of Purification

Party members within his Elemental Skill’s range with a crystallize shield have their Damage increased by 17%.

Albedo Best Weapons

Cinnabar Spindle 

This weapon was available during Albedo’s event and was customized for his kit. It has a rare Defense % increase sub-stat that Albedo scales with. The weapon skill also increases Elemental Skill damage based on 40% of Defense.

Harbinger of Dawn

This is a really easy weapon to get your hands on and refine as it is a 3* Sword. Since Albedo will be shielded and remain at max HP generally, you can make good use of its Critical Rate boosting weapon skill along with the Crit DMG sub stat for some massive damage ratios.

Albedo Best Artifacts

Husk of Opulent Dreams

This is currently Albedo’s best Artifact set. 

• 2-piece bonus: Increases Defense by 30%
• 4-piece bonus: Gain up to 4 Curiosity stacks that increase Defense and Geo Damage by 6% each. Gain 1 stack when landing Geo attacks, and you can also gain 1 for every 3 seconds off-field. 

You can see how well these pair with Albedo, whose focus is stacking Defense and Geo damage. 

Nobless Oblige

The 2-piece bonus boosts Elemental Burst damage for Albedo. Only the 2-piece bonus is generally used for Albedo.

Archaic Petra

The 2-piece bonus increases Albedo’s Geo Damage by 15%. Only the 2-piece bonus is generally used for Albedo.

Albedo Best Teams

There are several teams that Albedo can contribute to in a sub-DPs or Support role. Some of these teams are – 

• Albedo – Zhongli – Itto – Yun Jin (Mono Geo)
• Albedo – Hu Tao – Xinqiu – Zhongli (Vaprorize with Geo support)
• Albedo – Xinqiu – Fischl – Xiangling (F2P friendly)

Best Albedo Builds

Albedo’s best builds have him serve the role of either a sub-DPS or a Support. Here is what you need to implement both of these playstyles effectively.

Sub-DPS Albedo Builds

The best weapon for this build is the Cinnabar Spindle, with the Harbinger of Dawn being a good alternative.

The best artifact set for this build is the Husk of Opulent dreams to increase Albedo’s damage.

The Tenacity of the Milileth is the best Artifact for this build because the 4-piece ability allows Albedo to buff his team’s attack.
