The best AMD motherboards for this year are probably the range of Ryzen 3600s already up for sale. To make the best of them, you need the best x570 motherboards.

Ryzen chips offer amazing performance at a great price point and gamers, and others, are buying new X570 motherboard packs by the bundle.

These are high-end motherboards with future-proof tech like the PCIe 4.0, 4th generation M.2 storage, Wi-fi 6, a high-speed Ethernet LAN port, and many more cool features.

X570 motherboards are all the rage right now for budget users. You may even want to check out a mini ITX motherboard for your gaming PC build.

a great option for those looking to build an entirely new PC system, it comes in different price ranges. You can find budget models in the AMD X570 motherboards without compromising on the features.

Let’s take a look at some of the questions before we proceed to our list of the top 10 best X570 motherboards.

Is It Worth Getting a x570 Motherboard?

Buying an X570 motherboard makes sense if you are willing to pay a premium price for having your PC future-proof with PCIe 4 video cards, NVMe SSD drives, latest-gen USB ports, upgraded rear panel options, etc.

The X570 also comes with abundant high-speed Gen 2 USB 3.2 connectivity ports which is great if you have a lot of devices or gadgets to connect to the PC.

    Is x570 Better Than x470?

In short, yes, it is better than the X470 but not by a mile.

The answer becomes complicated when you want to decide whether or not to upgrade your X470 board to an x570 motherboard. The price shoots up drastically among the two but the performance difference is not too noticeable.

It is suggested that you buy the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X chipset rather than upgrading your board to get the best performance possible out of your system.

It only makes sense when you are looking for all the above things and are making a new system from scratch rather than upgrading your older X470 board.

Check out the best x570 motherboards, especially with Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming close.

    3. Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming

    Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming

This is a step above the ASUS TUF gaming motherboard. It has eight 2nd generation USB 3 ports which are more than sufficient for anyone.

It also has the standard Realtek 2.5Gbps ethernet port that is available in many motherboards at this price point.

The motherboard might seem ordinary to many and might even have some shortfalls, however, there is a reason why it is referred to as a gaming motherboard.

You can see sixteen chokes on the board allowing users to push power up to 600A to the main core.

There are 4 pin fan headers at the top, bottom edge and near the audio ports to keep the system cool during an extreme performance. Overclocking is not an issue with the ASUS Strix X570 E gaming motherboard.

To top it off, there are a couple of RGB headers that can be used to control fan lighting. There is a PCH cover mesh, that has heat spreaders underneath it to keep the two M.2 drives cool during a performance.

    Ports and Slots

The Asus ROG Strix X570-E gaming motherboard is for heavy computing users and not just necessarily aimed at gamers.

The PCIe slots might seem less for a gaming fanatic, but the 8 SATA ports make up for where it lacks, making it a complete powerhouse motherboard with more than ample storage capacity.

On the front panel, there are 2 USB 2.0 and a single first-generation USB 3.0. It has three fans that run to keep the system ventilated.

There is however the standardized 2-digit code display in case of any errors or performance issues for diagnoses purposes.

The utility application that can be installed enables users to experience overclocking capabilities. Users are able to alter the speed, current, modes, lighting, and more.

    Overclocking Capabilities

It is able to push Ryzen 7 3700X to 4.20GHz at 1.3V, which is astounding to get from an x570 motherboard at this price. It does match MSI Meg X570 Ace in terms of raw performance and overclocking abilities but comes at a much lower cost.

This comes very close to matching X570 Aorus Master in all aspects, power consumption, compatible integrated graphics cards, speed, and more.

    Our Thoughts

All in all, the Asus Strix X570 E gaming motherboard is a must-buy for those who are constantly adding hardware to their PC (That’s where the 8 SATA ports come in for future-proofing).

It is marketed towards gamers, however, is a power user’s dream come true, performance, ports, and overclocking at a fraction of the cost. It is an all-rounder best X570 motherboard available on the market.

    4. MSI MEG X570 ACE

    MSI MEG X570 ACE

MSI MEG X570 ACE has 4 DIMM slots for DDR4 RAM that can hold up to 128 GB of DDR4 memory. It supports 2nd and 3rd generation Ryzen processors with 8 pin power connectors and 4 pin fan headers.

The board however lacks on-site power monitoring points which can be disappointing as it’ll impact the voltage readings given by the brand’s control software.

This might not be an issue for most people since many are not concerned with such statistics, but heavy users might find this displeasing.

The MSI Meg X570 Ace is an improvement from its predecessors as the brand has ensured a larger Bios chip for future upgrades. This is something that was not present in the earlier models.

The board has 4 SATA ports, enough for many, but not for those constantly upgrading their system with all sorts of SSDs, drives, and more might face restrictions in this aspect.

For a pro user, 4 SATA ports are still adequate.

    Internal I/O Components

There are 2 internal 2nd generation USB 3.0 headers perfectly placed at the right-angle enabling users to hide cables when connecting them.

There is also a 2-digit debug LED which is set on default settings that show CPU temperatures.

This can of course be changed from the MSI control panel to show different stats according to your requirements. There is a single USB 3.2 and two USB 2.0 internally.

    Ports and Slots

MSI Meg X570 Ace has 3 M.2 slots and four PCIe 4.0 without any bandwidth sharing. These options are fantastic for those looking to have more options for GPU upgrades.

These slots are placed far enough from the CPU to avoid heat interaction which is great since there are many manufacturers who don’t think about such small issues, however, MSI has done its research.

The audio system is based on Realtek ALC 1220 audio codec which is connected to a separate PCB port.

    Rear I/O Components

Rear I/O ports have a premium feel to them, as it is shielded and has the standard USB 2.0, 3.2, audio ports, HDMI connectivity, and other standard features. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth a LAN port straight out of the box.

    Our Thoughts

The MSI Meg X570 Ace motherboard has some amazing features and differentiated aesthetics to a high-end market.

    • Radeon Vega Graphics
    • LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity
    • 4th gen M.2 slots

    Ports and Slots

The board comes with six SATA ports and 4 PCIe slots (Full length) allowing users to have six drives with 2 SSDs and GPU options at the same time.

That’s more than sufficient for a prosumer. The placement of one of the PCI slots could be better since there is an M.2 port right under it which means it’s better to leave that empty since the heat from the GPU will be reaching the hardware connected to it.

    Internal I/O Components

The board comes with 5Gbps headers to connect your USB 3.2 ports in it; however, these are at the bottom of the board and can be difficult to reach with poor cable management.

It is good to see 2 internal USB 2.0 since you can save your USB 3.2 for better hardware.

You can find 4 USB 2.0 ports where you can connect your mouse, headset, and other external hardware. There are also 2 USB type-A ports that deliver USB 3.0 speeds.

The Wi-Fi connectivity is derived from the 802.11ax Wi-Fi adapter and there are two ethernet ports for LAN connectivity. You can also find flash buttons that are great for future bios updates and a couple of gold-plated audio jacks.

    Audio Codec

Gigabyte has based its audio system on Realtek ALC1220 codec and there are a couple of fine gold audio capacitors which is a good conductor and result in great audio quality. The rear I/O has plenty of options considering the price the motherboard retails at.

    Our Thoughts

The motherboard is a solid powerhouse when it comes to handling the latest Ryzen chips. The motherboard has all sorts of little nifty things like hidden fans, heat sinks, and more to help with the performance of other hardware.

It is a great buy for those looking for a motherboard with everything in moderation. It’s our best all-rounder X570 motherboard.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite has four fan headers in the top half part of the board. The headers are all hybrid meaning that it is able to support DC-controlled fans and also PWM. With the gigabyte software, users can manage each fan individually which is a great feature.

On the right side, you will see four DIMM slots with double-sided locking mechanisms allowing users to secure 128GB of DDR4 memory. There are four more RGB headers in the upper right region of the board with 4 pin and 3 pin setups.

    Ports and Slots

The PCIe region has 2 full-size slows and two x1 size slots. Gigabyte armor is used around these slots to provide protection and support for heavy cards. The top slot is capable of x16 speeds while the others deliver x4 speeds.

Next to the PCIe slots, you will come across the two M.2 connectors. These can be used to support PCIe 4.0 for SSDs or SATA for HDDs. The chipset heatsink is able to cover a lot of the board and has a small fan to keep the temperatures cool.

The noise is also barely noticeable even under high-stress testing. There are a couple more RGB headers at the bottom of the board with a flash button and USB headers for the front panel.

    Our Thoughts

The board is a great buy for those looking to enter the X570 market. It is an entry-level board with some great features and a solid premium feel to it.

Of course, it won’t have all the other features like type c USB connectivity, Wi-Fi, and more, but you won’t find that in any board at this price point. This is the right purchase for those looking to overclock their 3rd gen Ryzen processors without paying a hefty price for it.

    9. Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming

    Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming

ASUS ROG Strix X570-F gaming has 3 full-length PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots which can be used for two graphic cards and eight SATA ports. Some might say eight is an overkill, however, you never know when you might run out of SATA ports.

Next to all these superb port connectivity options are heat sinks to keep the system cool. Four DIMM slots can be found on the PCB that has 128GB of DDR4 RAM capabilities.

    Rear I/O Components

There is an ethernet port and five 3.5 mm audio ports that are driven by a great SupremeFX S1220 codec. The rear I/O panel has 3 USB 3.1 2nd gen, a single USB 3.1 2nd gen type-C, and four USB 3.1 1st gen type-A ports.

You will find a couple of video output options like HDMI and display port which is always nice to see in a motherboard considering many that are on the market do not even have an HDMI or a combination of both. There is also a flashback BIOS button as well.

    Our Thoughts

It is an improvement over the E gaming series of ASUS Strix in terms of styling but does not have features like Wi-Fi and more like the E series.

However, it is much cheaper than the E series and has some notable features with a premium feel. Another entry-level board, great for those looking to enter the PC world.

    Technical Specifications

    • Works well with 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors
    • Two M. 2 drives
    • USB 3. 2 Gen2
    • Aura Sync RGB for lightning control
    • Comprehensive cooling
    • Gaming connectivity options
    • Gaming networking

    10. MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE

    MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE

MSI MPG X570 gaming edge has 4 DIMM slots capable of handling 128GB of DDR4 4400Mhz memory RAM.

It also has two PCIe x16 slots crossfire configurations which is great for gamers looking to top their frame rate with an additional graphic card.

    Ports and Slots

There are also 3 PCIe x1 slots for SSD connectivity and 6 SATA ports for connecting your optical drives and HDDs. There are two M.2 heatsinks and different fans to keep the PCB board temperatures stable during high performances.

The chipset does have a larger than average heatsink and this is where you can also find the chipset cooler, these have become the standard with an x570 motherboard.

The Wi-Fi module on this unit comes pre-installed, featuring an 802.11ac module from intel. It is able to run at speeds of 433Mbps.

    Rear I/O Components

If you’re looking for ethernet connectivity, that’s at the back in the I/O section. The rear I/O has a lot of nifty little things like USB ports, audio ports, Ethernet LAN port, attached Wi-Fi capability, and an HDMI 1.4 for video output in case you want to use the integrated graphics card and build a proper gaming PC.

    Additional Features: Audio Codec

MSI uses Realtek ALC1220 codec chip for its onboard audio system. It is perfect for those using headphones for gaming.

    Our Thoughts

Although the M.2 sockets are limited and there is no SLI support, the board has all other features and components that enable users or gamers to make a system compatible with the latest tech.

The design is intelligent; MSI has isolated the audio chip from the rest of the board to deliver premium sound quality.

Overall, this MSI MPG X570 motherboard is a cool buy for a PC that’s better than Chromebooks but can be built for less, among the best budget boards available right now.

    Technical Specifications

    • Works with 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen
    • Radeon Vega Graphics
    • Internal Wi-Fi
    • Audio Realtek ALC 1220 codec
    • Patented fan design
    • Frozr heatsinks
    • Pre-installed IO shielding

    Conclusion

The best X570 motherboard caters to different budgets and various features at those price points. There are several viable options available when compared to other motherboards like the B450 and more, these are quite pricey.

This shouldn’t put off any consumer because each and every board in the X570 series is worth the price point since it has future-proof technology. Also, the B450 and other predecessors were not good motherboards with old generation technology. They might be cheap but it’ll throw you in the dark age if you were to buy one of those instead of the X570 for your gaming PC.

This is a great comeback for the gaming hardware manufacturer AMD and we can’t wait to see how things pan out.
