Dragon Ball Legends Tier List – Ranking The Fighters & Teams

The DBZ space is an ever-expanding metaverse that started with Dragon Ball Z and now has multiple anime seasons and countless DBZ movies.

But, a new and exciting DBZ venture with Bandai Namco is Dragon Ball Legends—a card-based 3D video game where you can fight as any of your favorite Dragon Ball characters.

However, fighting is more fun when you have the best fighters on your side. In story mode, you can gradually improve any character, and defeat the AI enemies, but PvP battles are a whole other story.

So, whether you are a new player or a veteran, this DB Legends tier list will help you a lot. We’ll be making two different Dragon Ball Legends tier lists- one list is for the best Fighters, while the second one enlists the best Dragon Ball Legends Teams.

Dragon Ball Legends Tier List Objective

There are hundreds of playable characters in Dragon Ball Legends, and learning about each one of these characters by using them one by one will take up a lot of hours, A LOT! And since our DBZ space experts have already done that, there’s no need for you to do so.

Instead, you can spend a speck of that time going through this DB Legends tier list and start building on the best fighters from the get-go.

Also, since DB Legends continuously gets updates and new characters, we update our tier list accordingly. So, if you want to stay on top of the PvP battles, this page can help you a lot.

With that said, let’s now jump into our Dragon Ball Legends tier lists.

DB Legends Tier List – Fighters

We are going to rank the DB Legends fighters into 6 tiers, best to worst fighters.

Usually, we label the highest tier as ‘god-tier,’ but in honor of Dragon Ball, we are calling it the ‘Z-tier.’ And, for the worst fighters, we have the Veku-tier.

Z-Tier Fighters

These fighters are the creme de la creme of Dragon Ball Legends and certainly worthy of the god-tier. These fighters have the best attack and defense combos, work extremely well with teams and have little to no weaknesses.

Units like SP Super Saiyan 2 Youth Gohan and SP Super Saiyan 3 Goku are new promotions to the Z-tier after the recent update.

S-Tier Fighters

S-tier fighters are very close to Z-tier fighters in Dragon Ball Legends, but only close, not the same. Although the S-tier fighters are pretty strong, the Z-tier is just extraordinary.

So, until you get your hands on a Z-tier fighter, these are your best bet. Don’t get any wrong ideas, though. These are fun to play with and extremely difficult to defeat in PvP battles.

Content updates can sometimes result in a character getting downgraded as well. For instance, SP Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta was a Z-tier character before the latest update. When new gods come, old ones have to step down.

A-Tier Fighters

This is the mid-ranger tier of DB Legends fighters. Some of these are the core members of DB Legends teams, while others have vital power-ups and boosts that make for interesting builds.

The trick to mastering these is finding the right boosts or accompanying them with the right fighters.

B-Tier Fighters

Although the B-Tier might not sound as impressive as the above ones, these fighters have a good bit of firepower and abilities. Until you get your hands on A or S-tier fighters, these will be your core killers.

Some players stick with these as the core fighter even after unlocking higher fighters, it’s all about playing the right cards.

This is the longest DB Legends tier list because the number of outdated and average fighters on Dragon Ball Legends is way too high. This happens because new updates bring new and more powerful characters, but the old ones stay right there.

Still, keeping these around has a purpose because these hold some impressive synergy items and things like Extra Move cards.

Time to move on to our Dragon Ball Legends team tier list. We’ll rank the various teams, just like we did with the fighters in a tier list.

Once again, these are decided by our plugged-in gamers so you might have a different ranking. Do mention in the comments what you agree and disagree with.

Z-Tier Teams

These are the god-tier teams in DB Legends, which means these are the most well-balanced teams. They strike the perfect combination of defense and attack and allow the players a bit more room for mistakes.

S-Tier Teams

As the tier goes down, so do the power levels of Dragon Ball teams. The S-tier teams are plenty powerful but lack that final power bar to reach the Z-tier. Maybe with new updates some of these will make it to the DB Legends Team god-tier.

A-Tier Teams

These are more of the hit-or-miss teams. If you can find the right matchups, these might even defeat Z-tier teams, if not, the fight becomes extremely one-sided.
