Fans of the Final Fantasy series are in for a treat, as rumors suggest a series of remakes could be released annually until 2026.
The source of these rumors is the notorious leaker, Im A Hero, who has recently gained fame for leaking information about various JRPG remakes on Resetera.
The Leaks and Rumors
Im A Hero has previously leaked information about the remakes of Persona 3 and Final Fantasy 9. These leaks, along with the recently revealed release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, suggest that the Final Fantasy series could see a new remake every year until 2026.
It’s important to note that none of these rumored remakes have been officially confirmed. However, the recent leak of the Persona 3 Remake trailer has lent some credibility to Im A Hero’s previous leaks.
Despite closing his account, Im A Hero left one last piece of information for gamers: a remake of Final Fantasy 10 is expected to be released on its 25th anniversary in 2026.
The Potential Lineup
If the rumors are to be believed, fans can expect at least one Final Fantasy remake every year. The Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster could be released next year, given that every other game from the previous Nvidia leak has been released or announced. Im A Hero also suggested that Tactics is ready for release.
The second game in the lineup is Final Fantasy 9, which, according to Im A Hero, is two years away. This would place its release in 2025, coinciding with the game’s 25th anniversary.
However, it could be released even earlier. Im A Hero stated, “When I say 2025, I should’ve clarified, that’s my fault. It’s definitely a summer 2024 game but I personally have a feeling it’ll be an early 2025 game.”
Hopefully, this coincides with the early quarter announcement of Final Fantasy’s producer.
A Bright Future for Final Fantasy
In addition to these remakes, Im A Hero also hinted at “two dozen” games set to be released between now and 2025.
This lineup includes Tactics, some smaller releases and sequels, new Final Fantasy 14 content, and a movie. It seems that the Final Fantasy series is making a strong comeback and is here to stay.
