GTA 6 Lucia and Jason: Everything about our new GTA 6 characters

GTA V was so good Rockstar had to take a 10-year break from the franchise to bring it back again. Looks like it’s going to be 12 years between the last and the new one.

Just why GTA 6 is set to bring in a lot of new surprises.

One of them is a female protagonist probably named Lucia. We’ll also have Jason take it up from Franklin in GTA V.

Here’s everything we know about our new playable characters in GTA 6 Lucia and Jason

GTA 6 Lucia

It makes sense for GTA and Rockstar to finally add a female lead to their top-tier video game franchise again.

Both GTA 1 and GTA 2 had playable female characters. In GTA online, players could customize and create a female playable character.

We have a name and the basic character cosmetics courtesy of the major September 2022 leak. Footage included separate screen records of both Lucia and Jason interacting with a familiar GTA environment in what seemed like pre-alpha.

There’s even additional footage of a gun-toting Lucia which will surely add some interesting flavors to the game.

We are not sure whether Rockstar will provide their female or male protagonists as a choice or as playable characters spanning across the storyline.

Rumors say the latter and that GTA 6 will include missions with both characters coming into play.

Either way, Lucia looks great and may even sport Latin American descent, pointing towards another rumor about Rockstar’s in-house codename for GTA 6 – Project Americas. This may mean Lucia will play a key role in taking the storyline and progression beyond American grounds to Columbia or Rio or maybe Mexico closer by.

Sadly, there’s no backstory on Lucia to give us a clearer picture.

GTA 6 Jason

Jason looks like the typical American GTA character we’d all be playing in any other GTA game.

Identifiable as a white male, Rockstar is not repeating Franklin from GTA V to 6 and that is understandable considering the complete revamp of the game.

Footage showing Justin roaming about made me happy. There were more leaks with Jason in it and the movement looked more natural compared to GTA V, and I expected nothing less.

Details were limited to the leaked content and there’s no further information right now on Jason’s backstory.

Why is Rockstar adding a female protagonist to GTA?

A steady increase in the number of female gamers (and their market share in the streaming world) is commonly cited as the biggest reason for Rockstar to add a female protagonist for the role. Whichever way the playable characters are set up, the concept is to provide a better representation of the gaming community across the globe.

I’ll be adding any and every new crumbs on Lucia and Jason right here. Hopefully, Rockstar will start releasing teasers without risking more GTA 6 leaks showing up everywhere!
