Let’s prepare the materials and follow this tutorial on how to build Cottagecore mushroom house in Minecraft!
What You Need to Build a Cottagecore Mushroom House
- 181 Red Mushroom Block
- 195 Mushroom Stem
- 12 Stripped Spruce Log
- 27 Dark Oak Planks
- 18 Dark Oak Stairs
- 4 Dark Oak Fence
- 16 Dark Oak Trapdoor
- 1 Dark Oak Door
- 5 Ladder
- 1 Lantern
How to Build Cottagecore Mushroom House in Minecraft
Step 1: Build the Base and Wall
First, start things off by digging a 5×5 area and filling it with Dark Oak Slabs. You will have the base of the build like this.
Build a wall one block higher and wider around the floor using Mushroom Stems. This will be the base of your wall. Remember to leave one block empty for a door.
At the front, raise the mushroom stems up like the pattern below. From left to right the height count is 2, 4, 8, 8, 5, and 1.
Then fill the middle gap with some mushroom stems, and leave 2 blocks at the bottom to build a dark oak door.
Let’s switch to the right side, the wall pattern is 1, 4, 8, 8, 8, 4, and 1. This side is symmetrical so it’s easy to follow along.
Now let’s build the back wall. The wall height count is 1, 4, 8, 8, 8, 5, and 2.
And the final wall, which is 2, 3, 8, 8, 8, 4, and 2. This random shape will make your mushroom cottage look more natural and alive.
Step 2: Build the Interior
Come to the front door again, now let’s put 4 dark oak fences here. Then use 2 dark oak stairs to place them facing outside. Finally, put a dark oak plank in the middle to create a nice entrance to your mushroom house.
Go inside the mushroom home, and place 4 dark oak trapdoors at the corners. This will work as a support point where the second floor will be located.
Next, place 5 mushroom stems on top of each trapdoor to create another wall like the image above. You will need to come to the first floor when you’re done with this.
Place 2 dark oak stairs facing outside on each of the blocks above the trapdoors in the step above. This will cost you 8 dark oak stairs.
Then just fill the rest of the space with dark oak trapdoors. Remember to place them in the top position of the stair blocks.
Break the middle trapdoor that is farthest away from the main door. Then place 5 ladders on the wall to create a way to the second floor.
When you’re on the second floor, place 12 stripped spruce logs sideways on each gap between the wall like so.
Then use 8 dark oak stairs to cover the space between the stripped spruce logs. Remember to place them facing inside so they can create this effect.
Place a dark oak plank in the top middle of the roof. Then place a warming lantern right below it. Now your mushroom house is brighter and live-able.
Step 3: Build the Outer Wall
Now you are outside again, you will need to add some more blocks to the wall to make your mushroom cottage look more natural and beautiful.
Starting with the right wall, add 7 more mushroom stems following the pattern like the image below.
Come to the back, place 5 blocks of the mushroom stem in the center column, 2 blocks on the left, and 3 blocks on the right.
Finally, the left wall. Let’s use the 11 remaining mushroom stems and follow the pattern to finish off your mushroom house wall. Halfway there!
Step 4: Build the Roof
Go on the roof, and use the Red Mushroom Block to build a 5×5 area on top of the mushroom stem like this. Add one more block on the top of the dark oak plank block.
Next, expand the red mushroom layer with 3 more blocks on the center of each side. Then build another 3×3 area on the top center of the roof like this.
The next step is hard to build since you need to build some scaffolding blocks to be able to build them.
What you need to do is create another red mushroom block layer, but one block lower and extend to the outside.
Add yet another layer, but remember to extend the edge with the red mushroom block too! This will make the layer look wider.
Finally, extend the outer roof blocks downwards to 2 more blocks using the red mushroom block. You should see something like this.
