The Story and Cast
The Scott Pilgrim anime series will follow the story of Scott Pilgrim, a slacker and bassist living in Toronto who falls in love with Ramona Flowers but must first defeat her seven evil exes so they can date. The six graphic novel volumes were published between 2004 and 2010, with the film adaptation being released in 2010. Since then, the film has gained a cult following.
The original cast of the “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” film will be returning to voice their characters in the anime series. Production Details
The show’s co-writers and executive producers are Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski, who will also be co-showrunners. The animation for the series will be provided by Science SARU, the studio behind hit anime series like “Devilman Crybaby,” “Night is Short, Walk On Girl,” and “Ping-Pong Animation.” Eunyoung Choi of Science SARU will executive produce, with Abel Gongora directing.
In addition to the returning cast, Anamanaguchi, who composed music for the “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” video game, will provide original songs for the series. At the same time, Joseph Trapanese will work on the score.
The series will be produced by UCP, with Edgar Wright, who directed and co-wrote the film, also involved as an executive producer alongside Nira Park. Marc Platt, Jared LeBoff, and Adam Seigel of Marc Platt Productions will also executive produce, as will Michael Bacall.
