As the countdown begins for the end of Joe Rogan’s exclusive contract with Spotify, potential new homes for the controversial but popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) begin to emerge.
One platform standing ready to welcome Rogan with open arms is Rumble, a growing social platform.
Rumble‘s CEO, Chris Pavlovski, in an interview with Dexerto, has expressed his desire to bring the UFC commentator on board.
The Spotify Saga: Joe Rogan’s Current Home
Spotify, the leading audio streaming platform, secured Rogan in a reportedly lucrative contract, estimated at $200 million.
This deal exclusively brought the JRE onto Spotify’s platform. The contract is speculated to expire in 2024, making Rogan a free agent and available for a new partnership.
Rogan’s tenure at Spotify has not been without controversy. In 2022, the host came under fire for allegedly hosting guests spreading misinformation and making racist remarks.
More than 70 episodes were pulled from Spotify amidst intensifying demands for the platform to sever ties with Rogan.
Despite the controversy, Rogan rejected a counteroffer from Rumble and praised Spotify CEO Daniel Ek for standing by him through the tumult.
Still, the details of Rogan’s contract with Spotify are currently vague.
Spotify denied claims that the contract would end in 2023, stating that the agreement was initially for three and a half years with possibilities for extension.
Rumble: A Potential New Platform for JRE
Rumble, a video platform that champions free speech and diverse voices, has shown interest in adding Joe Rogan to its expanding content catalog.
Amidst Rogan’s controversy with Spotify, Rumble’s CEO Chris Pavlovski made a bold move by offering Rogan a $100 million contract to switch platforms.
Despite Rogan’s initial refusal, Pavlovski remains steadfast in his pursuit. “That $100M offer is still on the table,” Pavlovski told Dexerto.
He expressed his willingness to work with Joe Rogan in the future and affirmed his readiness to present an attractive offer when the time comes.
Further expressing his admiration for the UFC commentator, Pavlovski said, “I’m a big fan of Joe Rogan and I would love to have him on Rumble.”
This statement seems to suggest that Rumble is willing to go to great lengths to secure Rogan once his contract with Spotify concludes.
