Fortnite, the globally popular battle royale game, is set to welcome Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic Terminator character in its latest collaboration with the classic sci-fi franchise.
The collaboration is expected to introduce the Model 101/T-800 character skin, with further details yet to be unveiled.
Terminator Arrives in Fortnite
Epic Games, the developer behind Fortnite, confirmed the upcoming collaboration, which is set to introduce the legendary Model 101/T-800 character from the Terminator franchise. The news initially broke through reputable data miners, including Shiina, who shared a screenshot of the forthcoming skin.
Fortnite’s official Twitter account later confirmed the news with a cryptic post featuring the Model 101 in dim lighting, with a single glowing red eye visible, hinting at a battle-damaged variant of the skin.
Fortnite’s Ongoing Chapter 4 Season
Currently, Fortnite is in its third season of Chapter 4, titled “Wilds”. This season revealed an ancient jungle with hidden secrets after the central region of the island collapsed.
Despite some recent matchmaking and sign-in issues, Fortnite continues to attract a vast player base, and the developers are actively working on resolving these problems.
Previous Collaborations and Future Expectations
This collaboration follows closely on the heels of Fortnite’s recent partnership with Futurama, which introduced characters like Fry, Leela, and Bender to the game. The Futurama collaboration also included full cosmetic sets for each character, a Planet Express Glider, and a Zoidberg Scuttle Emote.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Fortnite has collaborated with the Terminator franchise. In early 2021, Fortnite introduced the T-800 and protagonist Sarah Connor to the game. The trailer for the skins featured a scene from Terminator 2: Judgement Day, with Fortnite’s Jonesy rescuing Schwarzenegger’s Terminator as he descends into lava.
With the upcoming addition of the new Terminator skin, it will be intriguing to see if any additional content will be introduced to spice up the game. While the new skin is likely to be a paid one, players can also look forward to a free Galaxy Crossfade skin by participating in Fortnite’s Galaxy Cup 4.
