All GTA 6 Leaks [Updated September 19]

GTA V turned 10 today and Rockstar shared nothing on a tentative GTA 6 release date.

But I’m sure GTA VI is just around the corner.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has pointed out the challenges of GTA essentially sharing how GTA 6 must be ‘something that no one has ever seen before’ and that it should ‘seek nothing short of perfection.’

GTA 5 has over 185 million copies sold till August 2023, raking in $1 billion in the first 3 days.

GTA Online, released in 2013, clocked an average player count of 150k in August 2023.

Can GTA VI do better?

These GTA 6 leaks help figure that out.

GTA 6 Release Date

Rockstar confirmed – ‘We are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.’ – back in February 2022.

Based on this, we should expect an official GTA 6 release date in 2024.

But chances are, this might get pushed back to early 2025.

Since there’s no confirmation, neither cannot be ruled out at this moment.

IMO mid-2024 seems really likely with Rockstar currently idling for the final touches to the top-layer game content.

And why do we suddenly get content like this out of nowhere so close to GTA V’s 10-year anniversary?

GTA 6 Confirmed Leaks 

Rockstar Hacked in September 2022

If you didn’t get in on the 90-odd videos and screenshots leaked all over the web, you’ve missed out big.

Sometimes, leaks find their way out and studios generally distance themselves from it.

But these leaks were major and Rockstar was quick to remove them and add copyright strikes. Hacked and hurt, they found the perpetrator and cleaned things up.

By then, we already knew GTA 6 was coming but no date when.

The GTA VI Document Leak

There’s a Google Drive folder named GTA VI Document doing the rounds lately. I knew Rockstar would add something special to 10 years of GTA V other than standalone anniversary content.

There’s no confirmation on these GTA 6 leaks from Rockstar obviously and I doubt there’ll be any.

All GTA 6 Leaks and What They Point To

There’s a chance none of these will make it to GTA 6 and we’re in for surprises.

Rockstar’s one of the best gaming studios in the world for their dedication to quality gaming experience.

They cut out hours of content from RDR2 just because it wasn’t working out consistently enough. This is why the game continues to be a gold standard for video games.

That said, here are some things we might get in GTA 6 –

GTA VI Map

If there’s anything that sells a good gaming franchise, it’s nostalgia.

GTA 6 might bring back Vice City, a.k.a. Miami, as the core map. Doing that seems like the way to go. It’s years since a new GTA and even though Rockstar was not sitting doing nothing all that time, they need to add some serious value to GTA VI. Going back in time seems very likely.

We might also get more than one city map and probably the largest game map in any GTA yet.

GTA VI Characters

We’ll get a new female protagonist  in Lucia.

Rockstar’s intentions are crystal – reaching out to the largest possible spectrum of the available audience.

We’ll also have our male lead in Jason.

GTA VI Gameplay

There’s not much on this but GTA VI might include multiplayer or co-op right on the main game platform.

Other than that, we can expect Rockstar to increase interactions with the game world.

Fans can expect a more dynamic policing system that will drastically change how the game is played.

We might even see Rockstar add an in-game social app to augment the overall gaming experience and a lot of activities for better immersion.

Of course, most of these are just speculations but there’s no smoke without fire.

Rockstar might push out an official GTA 6 teaser soon IMO. If the game’s to release in 2024, a teaser right in the middle of a busy October this year seems well on the cards.
