The much-anticipated Chapter 4 of Fornite has finally been released to the public, and it is already making waves for taking the game into a whole new territory. The new RTX changes make the game look and feel newer than ever.
But with all of these new changes we also get a new map, with whole new areas to explore. So let’s jump into it and figure out what’s new about the Fortnite Chapter 4 map, and all of the new areas you can cause chaos in!
Fortnite Chapter 4 Map Explained
Fortnite has confidently and comfortably shirked away its reputation of being a photorealistic-looking shooter at times. That’s mostly due to brand-new Unreal Engine 5 graphics and RTX support.
And even with the quirky, inimitable art style, we get some really fantastic draw distances and textures to go along with the improved performance on next-gen systems.
The new Fortnite map follows the same segmentation that has been a staple of every battle royale game out there.
Along with Geralt of Rivia from the acclaimed Witcher series by CD Projekt Red making his playable debut in the game, the newly accessible area is also available for all players for free.
Fortnite 4 Map: Points Of Interest
The Citadel
This is the largest POI on the new Fortnite map. The Citadel is a huge castle surrounded by several small ones, housing a lot of treasure chests.
Breakwater Bay
As the name suggests, which is a trend you will see with most Fortnite maps, Breakwater Bay is a bay by the seaside with a lot of small houses and a dock with more chests and loot.
Anvil Square
Anvil Square is a medieval town-like setting with a lot of alleyways for close-quarters engagements and a lot of looting.
Lonely Labs
The remains of a polar expedition gone south (wink wink), the Lonely Labs offer very little in the way of loot but some excellent combat scenarios.
Shattered Slabs
This new Fortnite location houses the latest loot in town. Kinetic Ore is the newest element in Chapter 4. We’ll be doing a special on it soon as we enter Season 2.
Frenzy Fields
A farm setting that houses a lot of barns full of loot for some open-field gameplay.
Faulty Splits
Somewhere between classic Fortnite and Anvil Square, the Faulty Splits seem lost in time, divided between building and old medieval homes.
Slappy Shores
The place where the all too famous Slap Juice is made, the Slappy Shores are the modern equivalent of Breakwater Bay.
Brutal Bastion
A huge castle upon a mountain, Brutal Bastion looks like it was taken straight out of an old Germanic valley. Tons of loot here too.
The new content is a bonafide hit.
Players are enjoying the new engine and lighting changes that have come with it.
With all of these changes and the new map, players are flocking back into Fortnite in droves. The game has never been more fun.
A lot of other content is to be drip-fed throughout the life cycle of Fortnite Chapter 4. There are a lot more skins and weapons and other loot to discover on the new map.
